Order of Evaluation

There are some exceptions to learn (look out for when subtract needs to happen before the add.

"Of" or "Order" is like roots or powers, etc.

Divide is not symmetrical, so 2 ÷ 3 is not the same as 3 ÷ 2

but… Multiply is symmetrical 3 × 2 is the same as 2 × 3

Likewise add and subtract differ in symmetry

3 + 2 = 2 + 3 but 2 − 3 ≠ 3 − 2
